Tree Pruning & Removal
Tree Pruning
Whether it is the cooling shade, the majestic structure, or the beauty of flowers and fruit, there is nothing like a favorite old tree. Trees can connect generations and embody our most treasured memories. Skillful pruning is essential to preserve trees and maintain a safe environment in which to enjoy them. Cedar Lawn's certified arborists fully understand the dynamics behind pruning and can apply that knowledge while caring for your trees.
Many reasons exist for pruning trees or shrubs. A few examples are as follows: containment pruning; pruning to improve flowering; pruning to improve aesthetics; pruning to improve health and vigor. Assessing your needs, developing a pruning plan and follow-up inspections are integral components of property management. Cedar Lawn has the equipment and personnel to handle even tall trees.

Tree Removal
When the time comes to remove that 70' foot tree next to your house, having a competent, trained crew on site can eliminate worries. Cedar Lawn is fully insured to alleviate any concerns you may have regarding unforeseen complications. Our chippers can reduce the brush to chips that can either be removed or used on-site as mulch. Wood can either be removed or cut to firewood length for use at home if desired.

Cabling & Bracing
Whether due to inherent weak supportive structure of some trees (e.g. weak tree crotches) or damage from storms, cabling and/or bracing can reduce the physical stress on limbs and thereby decrease likelihood of branch failure. Addressing potential hazards proactively can reduce damage and liability. Storm-damaged limbs can often be re-attached to tree trunks if the limb is still attached to the tree by enough undamaged wood.

Root Excavation
We recently acquired a tool that can expose girdling roots for removal. The tool uses compressed air to remove soil around the base of trees and exposes circling or "girdling" roots. Often unseen, these roots can damage trees. We can also use this tool to amend unsuitable soils by radial trenching and backfilling with appropriately amended products.
Additionally, non-destructive trenching can be done to expose major structural roots thereby allowing piping or other material to be placed avoiding major roots. This eliminates tree stress and damage from root removal via traditional trenching methods.
