Cabling/Bracing

Cabling/bracing is a great practice to use on trees or plants which you care about, and/or trees that carry some value. Cables are often used to help reduce the risk of branch failure. Cables disperse force and reduce burden away from specific parts of a tree, such as narrow branch attachments or areas with decay.

Cables are installed within the ‘canopy’ between branches and as such can be very difficult to see.  To be most effective, cables must be strategically located with appropriate hardware and properly sized for the purpose they are intended.
