Cabling/bracing is a great practice to use on trees or plants which you care about, and/or trees that carry some value. Cables are often used to help reduce the risk of branch failure. Cables disperse force and reduce burden away from specific parts of a tree, such as narrow branch attachments or areas with decay.

Cables are installed within the ‘canopy’ between branches and as such can be very difficult to see.¬† To be most effective, cables must be strategically located with appropriate hardware and properly sized for the purpose they are intended.
